Faith Formation is a lifelong process. Through the waters of Baptism we are initiated into the family of the Catholic Church. We are nourished in the Eucharist and confirmed in the Spirit so that as fully initiated people we can continue the journey toward being authentic people of faith.
We gather in worship to hear the messages of Jesus in the gospel. We gather to rejoice in Jesus’ words. We gather to serve those whom Jesus presents to us for love, mercy and compassion. We gather to be reconciled with those we have hurt and to accept reconciliation from those who have hurt us. We gather to care for all creation so that the gifts we have been given will continue to mirror the love of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Our faith gatherings are meant to provide opportunities to broaden our understanding of being fully initiated in the Catholic faith. Liturgy, worship, instruction, service, community, teaching, hospitality, global awareness and evangelization form the basis of our being formed as Catholic Christians.
At Saint Matthias we provide opportunities to broaden our understanding of the Gospel and its implications.
