From Fr. Fran We are happy to welcome back Carmen Giombetti this weekend as we thank her for her years at St. Matthias in Faith Formation leadership. Join us after the 9 a.m. Mass this Sunday as we say goodbye and wish her all Gods Blessing! Please mark your calendars for the Parish Pastoral Council Pasta Party after the 4 p.m. Mass on 12 November. This is the first in what we hope will be many social events where parishioners of all ages can come and enjoy a good meal and each other's company! Thanks to all who participated in our first Generations of Faith session on the Sacrament of the Sick. Many hands helped to prepare meals and activities. Thanks to all. The staff is carefullyreading participants' evaluation sheets and will be incorporating your good ideas into future sessions. At all the Masses on the weekend of 12, 13 November we will celebrate The sacrament of the Sick. This will be an opportunity for all those facing surgery and physical, psychological or spiritual illness to be prayed over and anointed with the oil of the sick. Watch for a full explanation of the Savrament of the Sick in coming bulletins. Copies of the Protection of Marriage Amendment Petition are available at the doors of the church. Within the next few weeks and information session will be held after the masses explaining the petition and inviting your involvement. Our parish-wide meeting will be held in early Novemberwith Mr. Bernie Swain facilitating. A tentative date of 8 November has been set and I am awaiting confirmation from Mr. Swain. I am happy to announce that Mr. Tom Griffin will be joining our staff as Director of Generations of Faith and Sacramental rograms for grades K - 12. Along with his primary ministry as husband, father and grandfather Tom is an adjunct professor at Emmanuel College in Boston and has more than 20 years experience in parish catechetical ministry. We will officially welcome Tome and introduce him to our parish family in the coming weeks.
